State Jewelry Association Contact List
The Jewelry Industry is represented by a number of trade associations. The first association was the Philadelphia Retail Jewelers & Watchmaker Association founded in 1889 by Arthur S. Goodman who later founded the NJRA, National Retail Jewelers Association in 1893. In 1897 the NJRA Convention ended in controversy when the Missouri delegation walked out of the convention. the In 1906 Max Jennings of the Michigan Retail Jewelers Association organized a national convention of jewelry retailers in 1906 from which began the ANRJA, the American National Retail Jewelers Association. Thus for almost a half a century there were two national associations until 1957 when the two associations merged to form the Retail Jewelers of America, now known as the Jewelers of America
