Types of MJA Memberships

There are three classes of MJA Membership: (1) Regular members, (2) Vendor members, and (3) Honorary members. All members will sign a code of ethics policy.

1. Regular "Retail" Members: Any business engaged in the retail jewelry industry may apply for membership in this Association. However, to be accepted at least 50% of its inventory must be comprised of fine jewelry; the business must have paid the dues for the current year, and it must have complied with all additional requirements and conditions established by the Association’s Board of Directors. Each member is entitled to one vote at any Association meeting and is eligible to serve on the Board of Directors and hold any elective office.

2. Vendor Members: Any individual or company engaged in the manufacturing or distribution of jewelry or watches or providing a service to jewelers or watchmakers may apply to be a Vendor Member. However, that individual or company cannot be engaged in the retail sale of jewelry or watches. Also, they must have paid the dues for the current year and must have complied with all additional requirements and conditions established by the Association’s Board of Directors. Vendor Members may cast votes at Association meetings, but they cannot hold an elective office in the Association.

3. Honorary Member: Any individual providing outstanding service to jewelers or watchmakers in Missouri or showing notable interest in the Association may be recognized by the Board of Directors and designated an Honorary Member. These members will enjoy all the privileges of Regular Members, but they cannot vote at Association meetings or hold an elective office.
